In an effort to address the increased interest in agritourism expressed by farmers in the state, Extension’s Local Food Program Team, through its Economic Impacts Work Group, developed an agritourism training in 2018 based on the recent work of many North Carolina Tourism and Extension specialists. In 2020, the Economic Impacts Work Group conducted an evaluation of the Agritourism Curriculum to gather agent feedback. The newly updated Agritourism Curriculum is now available in agent resources and over the next year will be expanded to include ten new case studies from around the state, like this one of Hickory Creek Farm in Greensboro.
